The University Science High School aims to be at par with secondary science institutions in the Asia- Pacific region.

School Mission

To develop students who are highly competitive in Math, Science and Technology, and Communica-tion (Asia-Pacific region).

Objectives

To develop student's scientific attitude, analytical and critical thinking, creativity and innovative abilities, mathematical and communication skills.
To develop student's well-rounded personality - physically, emotionally, socially, spiritually, and culturally prepared to live independently in their highly competetive world.
To develop/enhance student's desirable values for independence and self fulfillment.
To prepare students for college work.

USHS is a secondary school located in the area of Central Luzon State University (CLSU). This school is demonstration school under Collage of Education, CLSU, consist of junior high school and senior high school. In junior high school it has 4 levels, and 2 levels in senior high school. The school starts at 07.30 am and ends at 05.00 pm. I was a Physics teacher, so I hanlded 2 classes.

The source of learning material of USHS is from text books. Students can get the books on the book store. For aditional material, they can find it on internet. One of the books is Exploring Life Throught Science- Physics Book. for teaching I used this book to find my topic and make the PowerPoint.

In Philippines use K-12 Curriculum. K-12 curriculum is the newly implemented curriculum in the Phillipines after to Basic Education Curriculum. This curriculum is more students- centered, perfomace based and the subject taught spirally.

In high school days, science subjects were saparated:

1st year high school is general science
2nd year high school is biology
3 rd year is chemistry
4th year is physics

But, in K-12 curriculum the subject grade 7 to 10 are general science, it is more focus on general idea. The lesson from basic to complex.

In my school they use 2 kind of lesson plan. ther are Detalied Lesson Plan and Semi Detalied Lesson Plan. My cooperative teacher ask me to made semi detailed lesson plan and he gave me the example of semi detailed lesson plan that he use. this is the example of semi detailed lesson plan from my cooperative teacher.
